January Member Meeting: Census 2020 and Why it Matters

January Member Meeting: Census 2020 and Why it Matters

Once a decade, America comes together to count every resident in the United States. Census time is here!

The census is more than a headcount. Census data are used to determine political representation in the federal government and draw political boundaries for local, state and federal elections. Government agencies use census data to help determine government funding for rural development, infrastructure and health initiatives.

Yes, the 2020 census will be important for all Americans. However, for those of us who live, work and care about rural communities and small towns, it will be critically important!

Join us for our January member meeting where our special guest, Jeni Paulson, Chicago Regional Census Center, will help us all become more knowledgeable about the 2020 Census. She will be explaining why, and how this data will impact small towns in the coming decade how we can ensure our community is accurately counted to ensure our fair share.
